Westlakers

Click here to hear what some of our Westlakers (old boys) have to say about the school.

Westlakers Originally formed in 1979, Westlake Old Boys Association was rebranded ‘Westlakers’ in 2007. Our main goal is to provide opportunities for Old Boys and other members of the Westlake family to rekindle memories of the good times experienced during their Westlake years. We want Westlakers across the globe to be aware of opportunities to reconnect with their fellow schoolmates.

There are several ways in which Westlakers can contribute to their school e.g. sports coaching; financial donations; contributions of expertise, goods and services. If you would be interested in learning more about any of these opportunities please get in touch with Ant Ford in the Development Office (contact details below).

Ceremonial Archway and New Gymnasium Update

Archway - main imageCeremonial Archway

The fundraising campaign for the Westlake Ceremonial Archway has been very successful . The archway sculpture collaboration of well-known corrugated iron sculptor, Jeff Thomson, with former Head of Art, Dugald Page, and current Head of Art, Mark Masterton, together with Westlaker project manager, Kim Martinengo, was installed in December 2016.

There is still an opportunity to contribute $500 or more to this project and choose a “Westlake word” that will be part of the sculpture forever. All major donors will be acknowledged on a plaque situated adjacent to the sculpture. Click on this link to view the Archway presentation .

Gymnasium

new gym bannerAfter four years of dreaming, planning and preparation and 13 months of construction, the Westlake Boys High School Gymnasium and Physical Education and Sports Administration Centre was officially opened on Thursday 25th February 2016. The visionary community project represents a huge milestone in Westlake’s sporting history. Together with the 2012 Jubilee Fitness Training Centre and the 2015 Westlake Boys Artificial Sports Turf project, the Westlake Boys Gymnasium project represents the completion of a jigsaw of sporting facilities projects. Together these three “legacy” facilities ensure that, for many years to come, Westlake Boys High School is able to offer multi-purpose sporting facilities for our students, staff and the Westlake Community to share and benefit from.

12778834_697345620301893_4590294106013841848_oThe opportunity still exists for members of the Westlake community to be part of this important facility by making a donation towards one of a selection of items which will feature your name, your family name, team name or company name. Many school families, supporters and Westlakers have already taken up this opportunity so if you, your family, team mates or friends are interested please make contact with us. All contributions will be recognised on name plaques and/or signage.

Further details of this exciting facility are available in the Westlake Boys High School Gymnasium brochure here. A donation form is included on Page 4. Contributions are 100% tax deductible and can be made by online banking into Westlake Foundation account 12-3026-0268703-00 (please include your name in the Particulars field and “Gymnasium” in the code field).
