Many young men who already struggle with an inability to openly communicate with their parents struggle to process their emotions when parents separate. Often this can be a delayed reaction for young men whose parents divorced years previously and only now begin to process the impact. Surface levels of anger, withdrawal and erratic behaviour may be systematic of a young man’s struggle to process a family break-up or subsequent ability to engage with their parents or new partners.
