Headmaster David Ferguson and the Westlake Boys PTA are delighted to invite parents and members of the local community to a very special opportunity to hear world-renowned psychiatrist, neuroscientist and best-selling author Dr Shimi Kang speak at Westlake Boys.
Dr Shimi Kang is a Harvard-trained psychiatrist and author of the 2016 U.S. News International Book Award Winner and internationally-acclaimed book, The Dolphin Parent: A Guide to Raising Healthy, Happy and Self-Motivated Kids. She is a regular contributor to Ted Talks and an acclaimed international speaker. This is her first time visiting New Zealand and we are extremely honoured that she has agreed to share her expertise with us.
We are living in the most rapidly changing, ultra-competitive, globally diverse and socially connected era ever known. Drawing on irrefutable science and unforgettable stories, Dr Kang illuminates the latest research-based methods for developing the new future-ready skills for success.
The Headmaster heard Dr Kang speak in her hometown of Vancouver in 2016 at an International Boys School Conference. He feels that her content is current and relevant to the issues facing all young people nowadays and encourages parents to hear her for themselves.
