The Foundation


The Westlake Boys' High School Foundation is a charitable trust which was established to maintain and improve the educational, cultural, spiritual and recreational environment of the school.

Foundation Initiatives

  • Provide buildings, amenities and other facilities for the school.
  • Protect the history of the school and ensure traditions are protected for future generations.
  • Provide pupils of the school with resources to achieve a higher educational standard.
  • Maintain communication threads so, as generations pass through the school, their links with and passions for Westlake continue.
  • Create links between Westlake and its communities – i.e. Old Boys, local business and social networks.
  • Generate revenue in the form of sponsorships, legacies and business community support.
  • Provide a physical presence of Westlake tradition within the school.

Generating Foundation Revenue

The ability to generate revenue to enable the Foundation to deliver initiatives is achieved in a number of ways. Without the Westlake Boys' High School extended family and the support of parents, Old Boys, staff, and businesses in the community, many of the essential projects and facilities the school has would not have been realised.

To support the financial future of the school and to protect the school from increased pressure on resources, contributions are sought via the following methods:

  • Applications for funding via trusts
  • Sponsorships
  • Parents and friends of the school
  • Parent Volunteer Committees
  • Old Boys
  • Businesses in the community
  • Special events

Making Your Contribution

There are many opportunities to become involved by offering assistance to the school. You can make a contribution by:

  • Providing sponsorship or gifts in kind
  • Supporting fundraising events/requests with products, services, knowledge or general assistance
  • Providing one-off cash gifts or pledges over 2-5 years
  • Granting bequests
