In Zone requirements

Applications for In Zone places can only be accepted once the boy is living in the school zone with his parent(s) or legal guardian.

Please note that 'living in the school zone' means that a student has his main residence in the school zone. Please also note that the school will not accept the temporary transference of guardianship to someone living in zone as evidence that a student is living in zone with his parent(s) or legal guardian.

We will only accept the following evidence of residence in zone:

An Unconditional Purchase agreement OR a Certificate of Title OR a completed tenancy agreement and bond lodgement form for an in-zone property, in the name(s) of the parent or legal guardian of the applicant OR such other evidence of residency in zone as may be acceptable to the School, in its sole discretion ;

and

An electricity bill for an in-zone property indicating residence of at least a month, in the name(s) of the parent or legal guardian of the applicant;

and

An additional utility bill, such as a telephone landline bill or a water and sewage services bill indicating residence of at least a month, in the name(s) of the parent or legal guardian of the applicant.

Please note that:

•    We also require evidence of identity and right to reside in New Zealand for all applicants: we will ask to see your passport or,
      for those born in New Zealand, your birth certificate. Originals are required.

•    Further documentation may be requested at any time.
•    Applications will only be processed once all documentation is received.
•    The School may actively collect information and make all enquiries necessary in its opinion to ensure that enrolment details
      contained in the application are accurate.
•    We may also, in our discretion, require that you confirm the information you provide by presenting it to us in the form of a statutory declaration sworn under the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957.

The School Donation for all in zone applications is expected at this time.

A textbook bond of $100 will also be payable at this time. Refund of the textbook bond will be made when the student officially signs out of school, all textbooks have been returned, and all monies owing to the school have been paid.

     born in New Zealand, your birth certificate. Originals are required.
•    We also require two pieces of evidence as proof of address: utility bills and/or sale and purchase agreements or tenancy
     agreements are sufficient.
•    Further documentation may be requested at any time.
•    Applications will only be processed once all documentation is received.
•    The School may actively collect information and make all enquiries necessary in its opinion to ensure that enrolment details contained in the application are accurate.
•    Parents or Guardians may be required to sign a statutory declaration confirming that they have given us accurate information.

The ballot is a computer generated random sort and conducted under police supervision. The process does not take into account individual students’ achievements.

Each year the Board of Trustees will determine the number of places that are likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the School zone. Places will be offered to applicants according to their priority group, and then according to their position on the list generated by the ballot. Priority groups are prescribed by legislation and set out in our Enrolment Scheme.

Applications for the Out of Zone ballot will close on a date specified by the Ministry of Education each year, usually early September.

Confirmation of your out of zone enrolment will be acknowledged upon receipt of a $100 textbook bond. Your school donation is also expected at this time.

Enrolment Process

Please complete the Enrolment Form and bring your son’s Year 8 report, a copy of your son’s Birth Certificate or Passport and, if in zone, the required information as stated above. Please note that your son must attend the interview.

School Contribution

All parents/caregivers are requested to pay a School Donation. These funds are used for purposes associated with students'
learning and activities, including the purchase and maintenance of computers, sports equipment and library books.

The School Donation as yet is still to be set by the Board of Trustees for 2013

In addition, Learning Resource Fees are levied on a subject by subject basis to cover part of the additional take-home resources such as workbooks. These fees are compulsory.
