School Zone
Westlake Boys High School is located to the west of Lake Pupuke, a small caldera produced by volcanic activity. The school overlooks the lake and the main shipping channel to Rangitoto Island. Adjacent is our sister school, Westlake Girls High School.
The Westlake Boys High School zone is as follows:
Southern Boundary
The zone line is from the sea along Earnock, which is included, across Hurstmere Road and along the edge of Lake Pupuke, excluding Killarney Street and Manurere Avenue to Taharoto Road, but including Kowhai Street and Pupuke Road. It crosses Taharoto Road at Killarney Street corner and continues south of Dominion Road (included) to Onewa Domain.
Western Boundary
The zone line runs through Onewa Domain, crosses Northcote Road and goes up by the golf course, excluding all streets to the west, until it reachs Benders Avenue, which is included. It runs along Coronation Road (included, also including Nicholson Place) until it reaches Beatrice Avenue (excluded). It runs south of Archers Road to Chivalry Road, then north along Chivalry Road (included, and including Edgeworth Road) to its junction with Diana Drive. It travels along Diana Drive until it reaches Weldene Avenue (excluded). From there it runs north to Hogans Road (excluded, Ngatoa Place and Normanton Road are also excluded). The zone line runs south of Hogans Road and crosses Wairau Road at Kathleen Place which is included. It runs north the Ellice Road (excluded), crosses Target Road and runs South of Sunnynook Road until the Northern Motoway is reached.
Northern Boundary
The zone line leaves the motorway at Sunset Road and runs east along Sunset Road (included) to East Coast Road, along East Coast Road (included) to Kowhai Road (included). It runs along Kowhai Road and across Beach Road to the sea. Whitby Crescent is included.
